Great Basin Brewing Company’s Two New Ales Put a Leash on the Dog Days of Summer

Limited-Edition Microbrews Douse the Season’s Swelter

RENO, Nev. (August 12, 2014) –As muggy temperatures blanket the region, Great Basin Brewing Company cools off its award-winning beer lineup with two refreshing new ways to chill out.
Fans of lighter beers will find a summertime favorite in White Eye PA, a straw-colored, unfiltered brew that puts a sunny spin on what was once a Witbier recipe. White Eye PA sheds the weight of traditional Belgian Witbier spices and steps out in lighter attire, refreshing the palette with a crisp shot of citrus and pine. Its lower alcohol content makes this beer a perfect sipping companion for lazy afternoons in the porch swing or hammock.
White Eye PA also has a heavyweight cousin. Beer drinkers who want to shake up their summer can pop the top on Tectonic Event, an earth-tumbling, five-hop blend that tilts the Richter scale topping over 9% ABV. The tremors start small, but the malty first sip builds to a flavorful crescendo that makes it hard to keep both feet on the floor. This attention-grabbing imperial IPA will kick start even the most sluggish summer day.
“Summertime is beer time at Great Basin,” said Great Basin’s owner and brewmaster Tom Young. “Customers flood in when they need to beat the heat, and with White Eye PA and Tectonic Event, we’re able to offer some new and creative brews for everyone. These are the closest we can get to putting summer in a bottle.”
White Eye PA is now available in 22 oz. bottles at both Great Basin Reno and Sparks locations. August 13, Great Basin will throw a release party for Tectonic Event from 4-8 PM at the Taps & Tanks location with appetizers and live music. Both beers will be distributed for release across Nevada and in select California locations from Bishop to Roseville and up to the Oregon border.
White Eye PA and Tectonic Event are special, limited-edition 2014 releases with unique label art and will be available for a limited time.
