Great Basin Brewing Company Bottles Outlaw Milk Stout

RENO, Nev. (Oct. 31, 2013) – As cool weather flows into the region, Great Basin Brewing Company is bottling its renowned Outlaw Milk Stout to help stave off the season’s chill. This full-bodied brew will join other favorites bottled by Nevada’s oldest and most award-winning brewery, such as Ichthyosaur (“Icky”) IPA, Wild Horse Ale and Bitchin’ Berry.

Stouts have filled beer steins with rich, dark tastes for centuries and remain a perennial favorite for craft beer fans around the world. Great Basin has put its own twist on this smooth classic with a sweet, silky mouthfeel and an undercurrent of roasted oats, highlighted with a hint of coffee. “Outlaw Milk Stout is a perfect winter beer to drink by the fireplace,” said Tom Young, owner of Great Basin Brewing Company.

Outlaw Milk Stout’s full flavors have earned big awards. It won the silver medal in the sweet stout category at the World Beer Cup in 2008 and 2012 and a bronze at 2011’s Great American Beer Festival®, giving it a tall reputation among dark-beer enthusiasts. “Out of thousands of beers entered from all over the country and world, only about 250 win medals,” Young said. “Outlaw Milk Stout’s repeated victories have made it an icon among the world’s sweet stouts, and we are proud to bottle it for our fans to take home and enjoy.”

Bottled Outlaw Milk Stout, along with a new 20th Anniversary Ale, will debut Thursday, November 7th at Great Basin’s Reno and Sparks restaurant locations. Look for both brews in bottles this fall at select vendors across northern Nevada.
