Entries and Registration
All entries must be registered, paid for and delivered to a drop off location by February 14, 2018. Notice the contest is limited to Nevada and Northeastern California residents. Amateur brewers only. $8 fee per entry, 3 bottles per entry (2 if entering a bomber size bottle), 5 entry limit per brewer. All entries will be judged according to BJCP 2015 styles.

Judging - February 22-25, 2018
1st and 2nd round judging takes place February 22-24 at Taps n Tanks. Best of Show judging is on Sunday, February 25th at 1 PM.
Held Sunday, Feb 25th at 2 PM at Taps n Tanks (on E. McCarran Blvd. just south of Rock Blvd.). There will be plenty of "No Host" Great Basin beer on tap as well as samples of homebrews to enjoy. Great Basin Brewing will also be serving food for just $10 per person. Come down and celebrate with us!
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as a plaque for Best of Show.
Great American Beer Festival (GABF)
Great Basin will ensure the Best Of Show winning brew will scale up for production at their brewery for entry into the "Pro-Am" portion of the national competition as well as it being served locally at the Great Basin brewpubs. The winning homebrewer also receives one GABF Brewers pass and all-access ticket.
This competition is limited to Nevada and Northeastern California residents.

Three (3) bottles per entry are required (or two (2) if entering bombers). Bottles will not be returned to entrants.
The entry limit per entrant is five (5).
This competition is AHA sanctioned and open to any amateur homebrewer age 21 or older. All entries must be handcrafted products, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities). The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.
All entries must be received by the entry deadline - please allow for shipping time.
The 2015 BJCP Guidelines for Beer, Mead, Cider and Perry will be used in this competition. Our primary goal is to provide the brewer with qualified judging and valuable feedback. A minimum of two judges will evaluate and score each entry. The organizers will combine BJCP categories at each judging table based on resources and the number of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. Regardless of table assignment however, all entries will be evaluated according to the entered style.
Brewers (and co-brewers) may not enter more than one entry in each sub-category (e.g., only one 10A, one 21A, one 23A, etc.). Duplication of brewers or co-brewers within the same sub-category limits only one of those entries to be award eligible.
If you've never tried Stewarding before, we encourage you to try. It’s fun, good experience, and you get lots of help. No one is expected to attend all the judging sessions, just do what’s comfortable for your schedule.
Judges, you know we need you. The more judges we have the better the results, with less workload and palate fatigue for everyone.

Bottle Acceptance Rules
Bottles must be void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing. Printed caps are allowed, but must be blacked out completely.
12oz brown glass bottles are preferred (longnecks even more so for stacking purposes). However, green and clear glass will be accepted. Swing top bottles will likewise be accepted as well as corked bottles. Bottles will not be returned to contest entrants.
Bottle labels (printed from Reggie) must be submitted with all entries. Attach bottle labels with a rubber band only (inserting labels in a plastic baggie works very well). Note: Attaching labels with tape or glue is unacceptable.
Medals are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category/table.
The 1st place entry in each category/table will advance to the Best of Show (BOS) round with a single, overall Best of Show selected.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the Awards Celebration, February 25th, 2:00 PM, at Great Basin Brewing Co., 846 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV, 89431. Food and beverages will be no-host (meaning everyone is responsible for their own orders). All awards will be announced, beginning at 2:00 PM, those in attendance being presented their awards personally. Competition results will not be posted on Reggie until after the awards ceremony.
For entrants not attending the Awards Ceremony, awards will be made available for pickup at either the Reno Homebrewer or BrewChatter (depending on where the entry was delivered).
Scoresheets will be delivered to entrants online, via Reggie. Every effort will be made to expedite the scanning process, but please allow a few days for delivery.
- Wins the opportunity to brew their winning entry with the brewers of Great Basin Brewing Co. on the Victorian Avenue brewery equipment. This beer will be served in the Pub, and entered in the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Pro-Am Competition.
- The winning homebrewer also receives one GABF Brewers pass and all-access ticket.
Note: The management of Great Basin Brewing Co. retains the freedom and flexibility to award the brew-on premise and GABF entry to a style compatible with their equipment and processes.
